What we will do in South Africa

This is all about relationships with three very important components:
  1. The orientation in Johannesburg with Dr. Phil Knutson and Pastor Morwaeng Motswasele will be a wonderful introduction to South Africa, to accompaniment, and to your role and expectations in this relationship.
  2. The Diocesan Centre in Rustenburg is where we will divide up to travel to our various matched Circuits and where we can greet Bishop Ditlhale and the Diocesan staff and review with them at the end of our trip what we learned and gained.
  3. The time in your matched congregation or parish will be the most important and longest part of this experience. This is where it truly becomes an "experience" as you live with a congregation in a cultural setting very different from our own.

The itinerary Grace Lutheran Church, Tomahawk has prepared with Lekubu Parish gives you an idea of the timeline for visit.

Journalling is a very good way to track all that you will be learning both in preparation, on the trip, and your reflections afterwards.
